The West Bloomfield Lacrosse 501(c)(3) Grant Program is dedicated to growing and sustaining the sport of lacrosse in our community. Our highest funding priority is supporting initiatives that expand the reach of lacrosse by introducing new players to the game, removing barriers to participation, and creating opportunities for long-term growth. By strengthening the development pathway from first exposure through continued participation, we strive to build a thriving and sustainable lacrosse community in West Bloomfield.
Grant funding is intended to support programs, projects, and equipment that produce measurable community impact and directly advance our mission of growing the game. Priority will be given to initiatives that:
Increase grassroots participation and introduce new athletes to lacrosse.
Expand access by reducing financial, equipment, or participation barriers.
Create inclusive opportunities that benefit a broad segment of the community.
Demonstrate sustainable growth beyond a single season or event.
Strengthen player recruitment, retention, and long-term development.
Funding is not intended to subsidize routine operating expenses, recurring program costs, or existing budget shortfalls unless the request clearly demonstrates how the investment will significantly expand participation and create measurable community impact beyond normal operations.
Applicants should clearly explain:
Why the project or program is needed.
How the requested funding will be used.
What measurable outcomes will be achieved.
How the initiative will attract new participants, expand access, improve retention, and strengthen the long-term growth of lacrosse in our community..
Priority Consideration
Priority consideration will be given to projects that introduce new participants to lacrosse, increase inclusion, reduce barriers to participation, and create sustainable opportunities for long-term growth within the West Bloomfield community.
Projects that primarily benefit existing experienced players, including advanced training, elite programming, or specialized opportunities for a limited number of athletes, are a lower funding priority. To be competitive for funding, these projects must clearly demonstrate how they will also increase participation, expand access to the sport, and strengthen the overall lacrosse community through measurable community-wide impact.
